Major Siddharth Choudhary (Sid) was born in an Army Family. This was the only life he knew and always wanted to be a part of from a toddler dressed up in Army fatigues for fancy dress competition to a young officer rearing to prove worthy of his uniform. It’s a long exciting journey….a journey on which he makes some wonderful friends and meets Kashish Lamba, the love of his life.

NDA and IMA hone him into an Officer and a Gentleman and life in the Army tests his mettle. He is leading a happy and satisfied life when the Kargil War of 1999 is thrust upon the country. He fights a hero’s battle and emerges victorious. But unlike the reel heroes, the real life heroes are not always invincible. Heroes are actually moulded in glass and shatter into smithereens!

About Author :

Mrs. Kiran Arvind is an Army Housewife married to Colonel Arvind Kumar who is from the Army Medical Corps. Not with standing the facts that Mrs. Arvind Kumar never visited the National Defence Academy or the Indian Military Academy, she has miraculously produced an authentic account of the lives of Cadets at both the institutions. It is to her credit that she has the will power to write a book about the Army when she found that this noble institution was being degenerated by certain elements when actually it stands for the symbol of integration and secularism in this country. She chose to write this book to explain the life of an officer in the infantry from his initiation in the Army to his death at the hands of an innocent but pressurised child who becomes a victim of the terrorist movement who has stolen the piece and tranquility of the Kashmir Valley. You will laugh and cry as she proceeds with her narrative and probably feel part of this great tragedy which has befallen the peaceful countryside in Kashmir and forced a proxy war on the Indian Army. The author hopes that the spark of patriotism present in every Indian citizen may rekindle after reading the book.
