Raindrops is an interesting blend of short stories based on personal experiences and some fictional work sprinkled with some poetry. The stories reflect the author’s journey through the Indian Air Force, recounting his experiences during training and active service life. These stories span a period from 1964 to 2004 briefly sketching the adventure, drama and humor in the author’s career. Through these stories, the author relives his passion for flying and the associated tense and humorous moments. The stories on flying are interspersed with some personal life events, and fictional work that the author dabbled in, post superannuation. A few poems showcase a penchant for the sublime and poignant aspects of life.
About Author :
An alumnus of the esteemed National Defence Academy (NDA), Ashok Chhibbar joined the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot in 1969. He has been a Qualified Flying Instructor, commanded two front line fighter bases and served as the Deputy Commandant of the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad, amongst many other field and staff appointments. In 2001, Ashok was awarded the Ati Vishist Seva Medal by the President of India. In the same year, he was nominated for a course at the prestigious National Defence College (NDC). Ashok has traveled extensively and garnered global exposure through his visits across the Middle East, SE Asia, Europe and Australia.
